doesnt sound right , why would someone hack a box and render it unusable???
troubleshooting techniques have to be followed here, find out what you did before the box started giving you problems.

Your pc is hacked.

Before rebooting commands like grep etc was working ??

Some body has run rootkit and damage the linux.

Please check with the rootkit checker.
