This will find all files over 500mb:

find / -mount -type f -size +1000000 -ls

Just checked in /var/spool/mail and i only had one small file in there. Any
other ideas?

Try checking /var/spool/mail

I have a Redhat machine which is getting to full capacity on the / root
partition. I have removed things in /var/log but it did not really clear
allot of space. Could someone tell me what other areas i can look at
clearing out?
