I am running BIND9 in a CHROOT environment. Does anyone know why the 'named' init script (from bind vendor package) remounts the /proc file system inside the jail? I have seen many posts for other distros that do not seem to require the /proc file system within the jail. Also I have found quite a few 'manual installtion' instructions for installting BIND in a CHROOT'd environment and they do not mention mounting the /proc file system within the jail. Does a CHROOT'd BIND really require the /proc file system?
