If you disable it, you won't have that information, but it won't cause any problems otherwise. mrtg is a network traffic monitoring tool. The cron job is used to poll various network devices for statistics; if no-one else set up the application on that machine, then chances are the cron job is just there by default, and you can remove it safely...
