It seem kernel issue, but could you please tell us which kernel you have? (
uname -r) command
if your kernel 2.4 upgrade(install) your kernel or try install kernel
2.6final release.

I have done the same with another package, freeswan, and I have the same
error.
Can any help me, please? Thank you
