You are correct. This was the problem - the network ports in the back are switched: 2 is eth0 and 1 is eth1! It is like eth0 and eth1 are assigned reverse, while vif0.0 and vif0.1 are assigned the way you would expect. The Mac adresses are also getting switched, check the mac adresses in the BIOS and then check in Linux. All very confusing, but we are not sure if this a Linux issue our is a bug in the BIOS.
