I've run into a networking issue on my home network where one box is
extremely slow on downloading and just in general browsing. The slow
box is a Dell XPS 400 running Fedora Core 5. I have a Dell Inspiron
8600 running RHEL 4 WS which has no speed issues at all. They are both
plugged into the same SOHO firewall which is connected into a cable
modem. I'm pretty much at a loss, so any ideas would be a great help..
Here are some of the details.
Broadband speed test at Speak Easy shows:
*Core 5 * = Down 11.6 KB/sec transfer rate / UP 41.5
KB/sec transfer rate
*RHEL4 WS * = Down 383 KB/sec transfer rate / UP 43.3 KB/sec
transfer rate
*Core 5 *= ethtool eth0
