Are you installing the latest version of Redhat Linux, because some older distributions do not have support or drivers for the new ATA drives. I suggest that you get the latest version from your distributor and then install that. It took me two days of downloading different ATA drivers and then got the latest CD of Redhat only to install without a problem.
