There may be other things to check.

The load and processor

Try TOP command to get some idea which service or process is consuming most
of the resources.

Off course if there should be enough space on disk.

You can delete the /var/log/messages.*
even /var/log/maillog.*

If you feel that logs are not so necessary for that services.
That will not affect to any services.

If you can give some idea about what are services majority the server serve
??

May provide better suggestion.
