Unable too run lilo due to /boot/boot.b not found

Hi,
I had to reinstall my RH9 in my dual boot system (other OS is
WINXP). I am able to boot both WINXP and Linux from LILO. I had rebuilt my
linux kernel
and vmlinuz is getting installed in my /boot partition. Now after updating
/etc/lilo.conf when I am running /sbin/lilo it says fatal error "unable to
open /boot/boot.b"
When ran lilo with verbose option it says that unable to merge with MBR or
something like that. I don't have the /boot/boot.b in that location.
Now how do I rewrite the MBR through lilo with config from /etc/lilo.conf?
Any solution would be of great help.

Thanks in advance,
Pranjal
