Of course there was a lot of yelling from the inconvenience to notebook users of having it set on by default. So Red Hat is sort of in a no win situation on this one. Either remember to turn it on if you want it on your desktop or remember to turn it off if you don't want it on your notebook. I wouldn't argue that on might be the better default though.
