Re: stopping graphic console on boot

Ok. Let me be more specific since no one has addressed the problem yet.

When I boot, it gets to 'Initialzing hardware' and shows a list of things it's init'ing. while doing that, it loads the rivafb driver (nvidia video card). I can only stop it by going and renaming the rivafb driver so it can't find it, then I can load my nvidia driver for my x-session. How do I stop the hardware init from loading a video driver?
