Scan for new filesystems

I've just added a server to the san, hba driver looks good, and we just
carved out some space from our eva; is there any way to scan the device
from the linux server to check for the new space without rebooting? I
know I can do if I reboot the box and use dmesg, but I was hoping that
there is a way to scan without rebooting. Thanks very much for your
help.
