I assumed the quote from the knowledge base was intended to be important too. Of course, we can call Red Hat support with all our questions when we choose to. Sometimes we choose to discuss issues on the mailing lists and often people already know the answers to our questions. As I don't have any choice but to compile additional modules to use with Red Hat provided kernels it isn't a critical question in my world. If Red Hat won't support anything I do as a result then that is just how it is. But I am curious so if anyone happens to know I'd appreciate hearing from you.
