32 vs. 64 bit RHEL3

I have just leased a new 64 bit server to add to our systems. The server
will be acting mainly as a MySQL master server. I would like to know if
there is a difference in how Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 ES is installed on
64 bit vs. 32 bit. Mainly, I would like to know if there is an easy way to
identify whether the 64 bit technology is supported by the system. As it is
leased through a data center, they handle the setup and installation of the
OS software, so I am not quite sure that the server was properly configured.

Here is the output from uname -a
 Linux host.domain.com 2.4.21-27.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Dec 1 21:59:02 EST 2004
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
