Problems in installing openIPMI/glibc on 64bit system

When I'm trying to install openIPMI on a 64 bit itanium server with redhat
OS(Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 5)), following
problem is given:

[root@aotpcx2 OpenIPMI-rpm]# rpm -ivh OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16.ia64.rpm

warning: OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16.ia64.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID
30c9ecf8

error: Failed dependencies:

libIPMIlanserv.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMI.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMIcmdlang.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMIglib.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMIposix.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMIui.so.1()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libOpenIPMIutils.so.0()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libc.so.6.1(GLIBC_2.3.4)(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libc.so.6.1(GLIBC_2.4)(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

libnetsnmp.so.10()(64bit) is needed by OpenIPMI-1.4.14-16

To resolve libc.so.6.1 dependency, I have installed glibc-2.3.5 under a
local directory /root/GLIBC as it should not disturb already present glibc
on our system.

Even after successful configure, make and make install of glibc-2.3.5, still
the above given problem is given.

When /root/GLIBC/lib is exported in LD_LIBRARY_PATH, following error is
given:

rpm: relocation error: /root/GLIBC/lib/libc.so.6.1: symbol _rtld_global_ro,
version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux-ia64.so.2 with link time
reference

please guide me to resolve this problem.

Regards,

Raghavendra
