Hi Scully, From where can I download the Update ISO? I have RH4.0 CDs but it's installation kernel cannot detect my SATA disk controller (Intel ICH7R). I tried manually loading the driver during the installation (using the expert mode) but it won't proceed and the installation script will simply reboot the server. TIA. Michael Scully wrote:
Larry: I can't help you with your specifics, but I tried installing RHEL ES 4 on a machine whose SATA chipset (Intel's) wasn't supported on the initial Enterprise 4 release. I had to download the Update 2 ISO set before I could install. In my case though, the boot kernel wouldn't even SEE the drives for partitioning, so you've likely gotten past that. But I wonder if SATA chipsets are still an issue you're having. How current is your install media? Do you have a Fedora Core 4 set you could try for comparison?
