To protect LAN

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello Gurus,

I have a LAN set up with

172.16.10.0 series with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 for
servers

172.16.1.0 series with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 for
PCs.

All are connected to single switch.

No PCS are allowed to contact servers directly and all
are through web only.

My problem is how can I protect my 172.16.10.0 sub LAN
from
172.16.1.0 LAN as some infected PCS are continously
broadcasting and hence the servers network is
affected.

I do not have a proper antivirus and a switch were
VLAN
can be made.

with out these two facilities can i separate these 2
LANs which are connected to the same switch so that
over broadcasting by viruses does not affect the
servers.

 Thanks
Geetha Thanu
