Re: mount version older than the kernel

Hello,

I am sorry for such late reply but somehow my messages got bounced
back, every time i tried to send. I have not used rpm for glibc, but I
have downloaded glibc-2.3.5 from gnu website and installed it.
In /lib directory libc.so.6 is symlink to libc-2.3.5.so I have done
ldconfig as well, but no effect.

I think I need to send the complete log message from
/var/log/messages which I tried sending but the message size became
too big.

Just to give you a little background, my Workstation has Redhat 7
installed on it, and I wanted both linux-2.2 and linux-2.6 kernel
working on it, so I upgraded few packages. To name them, they are:-

 1. binutils-2.16
 2. gcc-3.4.3
 3. glibc-2.3.5
 4. module-init-tools-3.2-pre9.

These packages got successfully installed, but few of my utilities
like, portmapper, telnet, ftp, xinetd, etc are not working. Also, the
messages while booting up the kernel are my concern.

I hope, I have answered the query. Also, hope to get solutions from you.

For more clarity, I am pasting the whole log message here:
