Subject: RAID controller recommendations for RHEL 3

We've been trying to get an RHEL 3 system up and stable with an external

RAID subsystem attached for a few weeks now. We've used different
servers
that have run fine with RHEL 3 installed until we add the RAID
array. We've been using an Adaptec controller. I've been reading odds
and
ends on the net that suggest that Adaptec cards and drivers have issues.

We're looking to take the Adaptec card out of the mix and replace it.
Any
recommendations? I've seen negative comments about Promise cards as
well.

Anyone using a Mylex card?

Thanks in advance,

Scott
