Subject: Maximum user space
What is the maximum memory allocation for a user process?
Where does one look to find that information about the running system?
Thanks.
Is ulimit what you're looking for?
That's useful, but I wanted to know what the limit on ulimit was. Found
it where Ed Wilts suggested in another post:
http://www.redhat.com/software/rhel/configuration/.
Also check out the system calls getrlimit() and setrlimit(). I haven't used
them for years so other people on the list would be more able to help you
out with specifics.
Thanks.
