If it is a hardware issue, it could be the drive failing or the controller. Although SCSI is excellent, like any electronic device it can begin to fail. Look into that possibility. Hello all, This has been the 3rd time in row that my filesystem is getting corrupt. At first i thought it was just coincidence or something 2nd time i blamed LVM and it's now installed on 'normal' ext3 partition's, but again i have trouble with my disks/filesystem. Is this due to disk errors, is it some error in ext3 or something else? Thanks in advance, Yours, Reggy Ekkebus >From /var/log/messages: May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: scsi1: ERROR on channel 0, id 0, lun 0, CDB: Read (10) 00 01 e3 de 1a 00 00 08 00 May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: Current sd08:12: sense key Medium Error May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: Additional sense indicates Unrecovered read error - auto reallocate failed May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: I/O error: dev 08:12, sector 29622296 May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,18)): ext3_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=1851453, block=3702787 May 11 17:37:01 bram kernel: EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,18)) in ext3_reserve_inode_write: IO failure May 11 17:37:03 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:03 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:04 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:04 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:05 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:05 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:07 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:07 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: scsi1: ERROR on channel 0, id 0, lun 0, CDB: Read (10) 00 01 e3 de 1a 00 00 08 00 May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: Current sd08:12: sense key Medium Error May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: Additional sense indicates Unrecovered read error - auto reallocate failed May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: I/O error: dev 08:12, sector 29622296 May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,18)): ext3_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=1851453, block=3702787 May 11 17:37:08 bram kernel: EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,18)) in ext3_reserve_inode_write: IO failure May 11 17:37:10 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:10 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:11 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:11 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:12 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:12 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:14 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:14 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: ata2: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: ata2: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError } May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: scsi1: ERROR on channel 0, id 0, lun 0, CDB: Read (10) 00 18 cb de 1a 00 00 08 00 May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: Current sd08:12: sense key Medium Error May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: Additional sense indicates Unrecovered read error - auto reallocate failed May 11 17:37:15 bram kernel: I/O error: dev 08:12, sector 413925400 -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=subscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
