You are right, openmotif21-2.1.30-8  for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS
(v. 3 for AMD64/Intel EM64T) points me to the same rpm as the one used
by Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (v. 3 for x86. I checked it in RHN. If
you check the download URL from RHN infact it is installing for a Red
Hat 9 tree. (/linux/9/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/openmotif21-2.1.30-8.i386.rpm).

What is the version of GLIBC you are using?  

rpm -qa | grep -i glibc
