Our new Dell server has just been delivered, and it has RHEL 2.1 installed.

I have registered it with RHN and looked for upgrade options at the redhat.com site. AFAICS I can pay more or fill out a form for a 30-day trial. Have I missed the option for upgrading a currently supported and registered installation?

Your RHEL 2.1 subscription is also valid for RHEL 3 and RHEL 4. You've got a couple of choices. You can either download a fresh RHEL 3 or RHEL 4 distribution and do a fresh install (recommended) or you can try and upgrade the current installation.

My recomendation would be to install RHEL 3 or RHEL 4 on it and then
register the system with RHN for your upgrades.

Thanks Ed, that is what I was going to do. My question is - how do I access the download? Do I sign up for the 30-day trial? Or, have I not yet found the correct web page?

Peter
