From the discussions on the web pages, this appears to be a problem with a certain set of XFree86 programs. I will upgrade the system and see if the problems persist.

What does "[drm:radeon_lock_take] *ERROR* 4 holds heavyweight lock" mean?

When I start up a Tecplot 10.0.3 session on a Dell station running 2.4.20-30.9, the screen freezes up.

/var/log/messages contains:

Resolved address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only config source at position 0
Jan 31 15:36:21 io gconfd (root-5198): Resolved address "xml:readwrite:/root/.gconf" to a writable config source at position 1
Jan 31 15:36:21 io gconfd (root-5198): Resolved address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only config source at position 2
Jan 31 15:40:19 io kernel: [drm:radeon_lock_take] *ERROR* 4 holds heavyweight lock

We haven't had problems with various versions of Tecplot on Dell stations running various versions of RedHat.
