Suppose that you have to image a dozen hp dl145s with RHEL3-WS-AMDx86_64. Now suppose that these boxes are netboot only, no floppy, no cdrom. Also supposed that HP, in their infinite wisdom, choose a NIC for these servers that does not seem to be able to distribute binary drivers for (BroadCom). Because of this, the drivers for these nics are not included in RHEL, not in RHEL3WS, RHEL3WSU1, RHEL3WSU2, RHEL3WSU3, RHEL3WSU4. Let's also suppose that you do not currently have a working Opteron based server running RedHat, with which to compile the binary broadcom drivers. Now, for grins and jollies, let's suppose that if you look up the DL145 in RedHat's hardware compatibility, redhat claims thee dl145 will install without a hitch. All of these things in mind, who's crazy here, me, redhat, or hp? -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
