Rudolf: Instead of building a router (a good exercise), you can get some rudimentary blocking done by a number inexpensive SOHO-type routers. They will do the things like block a site with xxx or porn or any particular phrase of characters in the URL. I know the ones I install professionally from Multitech Systems do, and I think a lot of Netgear, Linksys, D-link, etc retail models do as well.
