I don't think there is a true vi included with RH, you need to compile it if you want. Here is what I get after doing rpm -qf on /bin/vi and the aliased /usr/bin/vim then looked at the info on those rpm's: rpm -qi vim-minimal-6.2.532-1 Description : VIM (Vi IMproved) is an updated and improved version of the vi editor. Vi was the first real screen-based editor for UNIX, and is still very popular. VIM improves on vi by adding new features: multiple windows, multi-level undo, block highlighting, and more. The vim-minimal package includes a minimal version of VIM, which is installed into /bin/vi for use when only the root partition is present. -- Pete Nesbitt, rhce -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
