Are you running multi-path or just single-path? I'm having the same problem and just wonder if this is something to do with the multi-path. This box runs RedHat Enterprise Server Linux release 3. We have Oracle Database running on this machine where the datafiles reside on the RAID-Partition (ext3). The machine runs normal about half a day. Then suddenly the I/O-Wait on all four processor raise up to 100% and the load increases above 200. One can't even copy a 3KB file on the raid array. The only way to get the machine running again is to switch off power and restart. Unfortunatly there are no log messages in the log files regarding any error with the raid or the lilke. Does anyone have an idea where to look or what to do to find the failure?
