Why not compile Firefox (if source is available) using newer version of
gcc?

Subject: firefox and rh7.3

I had Firefox .8 working fine on my machine but .9 and 1.0 requires t
libstdc++.so.5 I really do not want to update gcc to 3.4 and risk
breaking all the programs compiled with and using gcc 2.96 . Is
there any way I can get this to work?
                         Thanks
