I probably don't have the exact answers, and suspect there are some bugs. But I know by experience to get round that, invoke ypinit -s server on the slaves does get the maps updated. I looked at the ypinit script, it has a line cd $YPMAPDIR && make NOPUSH=true so even i changed the Makefile to have NOPUSH=false, it will be overidden by the ypinit? if so, why? i can manually run yppush with no problem. 2. ypxfrd (on slave) dose not update the maps, even i have put trusted_master: my.master.server in /etc/ypserv.con again, i can manually run ypxfr without problem 3. most importantly, yppasswd can only change the passwd in the master server. how to make the updated passwd (yppasswd) pushed to slave server automatically whenever users changed their passwd? many thanks cheng ===== Best wishes Z C Wang ___________________________________________________________ALL-NEW Yahoo!
