RedHat 7 works just fine with NIS. I'm running two Solaris 8 NIS Servers on E450's and binding several RedHat 7 machines to it; as well as RedHat and FC2. Works fine.

I have use NIS on SUNs for years and it works well.

How does NIS, NIS+ work on RedHat 7 systems? We have some RedHat
systems tied to NMR instruments. The NMRs have not been programmed to
work on the newer RedHat systems. I know that RedHat 7 is not
supported.
