Hello Ben

VMware is a quality product. My setup includes dual
AMD MP 2800s, with
512 MB RAM. It works beautifully. I mainly use it
to make sure I have
full compatibility with other Windows boxes (ie,
opening a Word document
in VMware after creating it in Open Office).

Just a question. Is VMware a greedy memory eater? My box is PIII 866
with only 256M mem, is it enough to run Linux and WIN2K both smoothly?

Not really. I would really only run this with a minimum of 512Mb. I have in fact got 1Gb and it runs fine.

Regards,
Ed.

I agree. I went from 512 to 1.5 GB and everything works much freer. I'm running SuSE 9.1 as the host and testing WinXP Pro to Win Server 2003 as guests on a P4 2.8 HT.

Cheers,
Mike
