Using the sound card

  Hello,
     I have a linux PC with the following configuration.

    I would like to have a driver to use the CD player.
    Where I can get the driver SW? Whether the driver SW
    is available in RPM format? How can I add the module to the
    kernel? Iam new to Linux OS.

 I use kde. Which SW can I use to play the CD? Iam new to 
 Linux.
