There is no partition table on the disk. He formatted the entire drive as an ext3 filesystem. Please notice that he mounts /dev/hde and not something like /dev/hde1. Your data is intact. You will just have to copy it off before you create a partition table on the drive, assuming that is what you want. -- C.
