Dump a terminal buffer to file

My setup:
*--
Software:
Linux kernel 2.6.7-1.494 Architecture i686
Fedora Core release 2.90 (FC3 Test 1)
Hardware:
model name	: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00GHz
cpu MHz : 1994.797
*--

I think I once a knew a command or series of commands that would dump
the scroll_back buffer of an xterm to STDOUT.

Any one here know how that is done?
