Correct Permissions for /var

Could someone with a Redhat 9 system run the following commands (as root 
I guess) and show me the results?  I got a little slippery with the 
keyboard altered my permissions.  I've got everything working, but I 
want to make sure things are the way they should be.  It doensn't look 
like I altered ownerships, just permissions.

cd /
ls -ld var
cd var
ls -alh
