Can anybody provide me a link for a CUPS RPM for RH 7.2? I'm getting
killed by package dependencies on every rpm I find. When I try to install
some of the dependent packages, I get conflicts with what's already
installed. Is there a source rpm that will install everything I need for
CUPS?

But...attempts to
install the compiled RPM result in :
error: failed dependencies:
/usr/sbin/alternatives is needed by cups-1.1.17-0.9
A web search for /usr/sbin/alternatives shows that "alternatives" should
be installed with chkconfig -- I have chkconfig installed, but no
/usr/sbin/alternatives!!! ??????
How can I get cups up & running on RH 7.2?
