About : " [root@blochee root]# find /lib -name "libpthread.so*" /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0 /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0 /lib/libpthread.so.0 [root@blochee root]# find /usr -name "libpthread.so*" /usr/lib/libpthread.so " can you please see if they are file system links, eventually set differently depending upon the account you use? Also, have you tried setting the environment variable : LD_ASSUME_KERNEL ? Please do : echo $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL both in your user and in your root account. ( this controls which loader to use, and this in turn influences how to solve symbols ). Try ( in bash shell) export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 in your user account. Let me know what happens.
