Re: slow to boot / sendmail

I just experienced the same problem. Sendmail tried to resolv my
hostname but didn't find the loopback entry in my /etc/hosts file!
*misteriously dissapeared*

127.0.0.1 MYHOSTNAME localhost.localdomain localhost

Subject: slow to boot

I have solved the problem getting comcast cable to
work ...

but now ... when the machine boots it hangs for a long
time at:

starting sendmail
starting sm-client

They eventually load, but it sure takes time. Is this
related to something with the cable modem install?

I do not use sendmail [yet - will it work with
comcast?]

What is sm-client?
