If you have a multi-threaded processor, like the newer Xeons, Linux will see it as 2 processors instead of 1. I don't see why that would cause your processes to run slower though. Can someone tell me why this is the case and how i get my machine back to showing 2 CPU's! job running 20% slower on lin14 than expected. 4 cpus were being monitored on lin14 instead of 2.
