GRUB problem

Hi,

I have recently do some maintenance to my RH 7.2 machine and now it
cannot boot automatically. During booting, it just goes directly into
the "GRUB" prompt without any error message. The /boot/grub/grub.conf
file looks fine to me, and I have already run "grub-install" after
boot-up, and "setup" inside the "grub" boot command prompt, but still no
help. Now, during booting, I have to enter the following commands
manually each time :
  root (hd0,0)
  kernel=/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda2
  initrd /initrd.....
  boot

Can anyone give me some hints on it ?

Regards,
Raymond.
