I did not run into that problem again till my last reboot, I'll try when it will happen...
But I'm under Gnome I hope it will work...
Someone has an idee of what to do under Gnome.

Hi, If your in KDE, you may need to kill the arts daemon. I have run into that many times. (not sure about GNOME)
killall artsd ...then restart xmms -- Pete Nesbitt, rhce
