What kind of system information?

You can try reading the files in /proc

> like CPU Info
try this command 
'cat /proc/cpuinfo'

> Mem info,

try this command
'cat /proc/meminfo'

The files in /proc is the used by the kernel for communication, and is 
constantly updated (for some stuff).
