GPL does not necessarily mean it's free. it means that they have to provide 
the source to the person they distribute the binay to. 

RH does better than that. They put their SRPMS publicly available FTP. 
The whiteboxlinux guys rebuild the SRPMS themselves (ie. the source), and 
re-distribute the RPM.
