RE: chmod /var/spool/mail

The default is 775.  Setting to 1777 would be preferrable to 777 (see
"man chmod" under "Sicky Directories"), but I haven't seen any reason
to deviate from the default.

Can anyone please help , my server tends to give out this message if tail maillog , some have suggtested that i chmod 777 /var/spool/mail .I am just scared of doing the inreversible thing , please help .
