reboot/system crashing issue...

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

more information...

the system is actually giving the following error...

"Error reading block 44338 (attempt to read block from filesystem resulted
in short read) while reading indirect blocks of inode 653116.

/: unexpected inconsistency

run fsck manually

"

i entered the root system passwd, and attempted to run "fsck"

with
 fsck /dev/hda1

and by running
 fsck -f -c -y /

neither appeared to do any good/work...

any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated...

thanks

hi...

i have a system that is giving errors when trying to reboot...

it's stating that i should do a "fsck" manually...

when i type "fsck" it's stating that i haven't specified any hardware (or
something to that effect...)

i only have one hard drive on this system... and i "realllyyy!!!!" need to
get this back up/running....

i suspect that the issue has something do with rechecking/rebuilding the
filesystem... but not being a linux admin, i'm hoping that someone here
might be able to help walk me through this issue!!!

thanks
