Yes I am.  It is version 8.1, IBM Universal Database Personal Developer's Edition:
http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?rs=db2pde

I also realized that the script (db2sampl) that creates sample database is also not found in the file system.
db2 commnad and db2 control center works fine, but I cannot start a database manager to start an instance since the scripts are not there.
Very strange!

I hope someone can help me.

Hi,

I just installed IBM universal database Personal Developer's edition [free
trial version to our one of Redhat 7.3 machines. I can bring up
Control Center, but cannot start database instance.
It looks like it added the proper paths, but is not finding db2start script:

=== env ===
.......
PATH=/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/opt/IBMJava2-141/bin:/opt/IBMJava2-141/jre/bin:
/home/db2inst1/sqllib/bin:/home/db2inst1/sqllib/adm:/home/db2inst1/sqllib/misc:/home/db2inst1/bin
==========

I looked around with a find command, but no success.
Could someone tell me how it works ?

I simply used db2setup GUI to install db2 and create an instance.
According to the IBM manual, I should be able to start the instance,
but it is not happening.

Thanks,
yasushi
