Should the /dev/cdrom symlink be pointing to /dev/hdc rather than dev/hdb? If so, how do I change it - I haven't done that yet?/dev/cdrom should point to whatever the physical device is for the CD. If the CD is a slave on the first IDE bus, then it's /dev/hdb. If it's a master on the second IDE bus, it's /dev/hdc, and if it's a slave on the second bus, then it's /dev/hdd.
