CDRW blanking process hung

Using GnomeToaster - every time I erase a CD-RW it finishes. ejects and 
loads the tray. Then hangs. The progress dialog for erasing can't be 
closed. pressing the close widget just causes it to go behind the 
GnomeToaster window. The drive itself has it's access light on 
continuously and the eject button does nothing. Can't kill the CD 
blanking process (it's in DL status).

Any fixes?
